Intel’s New Comet Lake Desktop Processors Can Go as High as 5.3Ghz

They are refined versions of the 14nm-based Skylake processors

Intel finally unveils its 10-generation Comet Lake Desktop Processors, with the Core i9-10900K leading the pack. Intel’s new top-tier processor is a 10-core/2o thread design that has a 125w TDP, a base clock speed of 3.7Ghz, and a maximum speed of 5.3Ghz under Thermal Velocity Boost. Priced at around $488(~Php 24.8k), h Core i9-10900k is Intel’s answer to Team Red’s Ryzen 9 3900X—a 12 core/24 thread design with a lower 105 TDP and maximum clock speeds of 4.6Ghz.

If you are looking for an affordable option, all Core chips—including 4-core/8 thread Core i3 variants—come with hyperthreading for better multitasking. If you want one that is overclockable, the Core i5-10600KF is your most affordable option at $237(~Php 12k).

Here’s the rundown of all 10th-generation Comet Lake desktop processors, from the entry-level Pentium Gold to the top-of-the-line Core i9:

While Intel’s new processors are still based on a 14nm processAMD’s new Ryzen processors use a 7nm process—Intel is counting on higher clock speeds to match what Team Red has to offer.

The unlocked “K” CPUs are expected to be available this May.
