Kata i3 Unboxing!

Low-key company Kata Digital has always kept themselves under the radar ever since they set-up shop in the Philippines. That all changed during their launch of the Kata i3, and they reached out to local technology bloggers to spread the word and to meet and greet the tech press. During the event, we were lucky enough to get a hold of Kata’s new flagship, the Kata i3. Priced at P8,499, you’ll get an Android phone with really impressive specs. Let’s check it out!

Kata i3 specs:

We were quite intrigued on the packaging, as it closely resembled the box of the iPhone 5s. It looks really neat and very clean, with no fancy designs whatsoever.

Upon opening the box, you’re treated to a shiny 5-inch Kata i3 in Royal Blue.

Included accessories are a headset, USB cable, adapter and the instruction manual.

The device resembles the Sony Xperia Z1 to some extent with its sharp edges and corners. The Kata i3 uses a 5-inch Super HD LCD display (1280 x 720 pixels). There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the upper right portion of the Kata i3. The volume rockers are located on the left side, while the power button resides on the right side. The 3.5mm jack rests on the top of the Kata i3.

The back of the Kata i3 is treated to a fake brushed metal finish in Royal Blue, which adds to its “sosyal image”. We found the finish of the Kata i3 elegant, especially the color. The Kata i3 is surprisingly light and is very comfortable to hold.

We were definitely impressed by the display. It produced and bright and accurate colors for its size.

And that’s a wrap up of our unboxing. We’ll be doing camera and benchmark tests of the Kata i3, as well as evaluating the battery life of the device as we use it as our daily driver. Our full review will be coming soon!
