Meet Kodak’s first phone

Kodak isn’t dead – well, not yet – and has released a new smartphone bearing their name and their iconic Instamatic brand, dubbed the Instamatic 5. The new phone – built by Bullit, the same people who make those CAT branded rugged Android phones – isn’t an imaging powerhouse, which is disappointing, considering that it’s attached to one of the most iconic names in photography.

Kodak Instamatic 5 specs:

The device uses rather mid-range hardware aside from the disappointing 13-megapixel rear camera – a MediaTek 1.7Ghz octa-core processor powers everything, along with 1GB of RAM and a paltry 8GB of storage. It’s running Android 4.4 KitKat with some custom UI layered on top, which will be eventually upgradable to Android Lollipop.

The Instamatic 5 will make its debut in Europe with a $249 (Php 11197) price tag.
