Aside from the leaked 2017 refresh of the A3 and the A7, another member of the A series family has surfaced today, courtesy of Twitter user @onleaks. Specifically, Samsung’s 2016 version of the Galaxy A8.

From the renders, it seems that the A8 has inherited many of the same design cues of the Galaxy S7, though obviously it’s a little bigger since it doesn’t have a curved display option. The 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display is a nice compromise between the 5.5-inch display of the A7 and the gigantic 6-inch panel on the Galaxy A9 Pro, which should make it easier to hold with one hand.

As far as the internals go, you’re looking at Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor that’s powering the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge (which is still a phenomenal chipset, truth be told) 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which should be expandable. Imaging is rumored to be provided by a 16-megapixel rear camera, while the front camera is a 5-megapixel deal. Android Marshmallow rounds out the features of the device.

If the rumors are correct, the 2016 variant of the Galaxy A8 might turn out to be a potent midranger for people who don’t want to drop serious money on a flagship phone from the Korean company.
