Today, Lenovo Philippines officially unveiled the 2014 version of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is their top of the line ultrabook, meant for upwardly mobile executives that need a thin, light and strong notebook without sacrificing performance . Lenovo says that the Thinkpad X1 Carbon is nearly indestructible, utilizing a carbon fiber body and frame.

The carbon fiber material used in the X1 Carbon allows the device to withstand the abuse of daily use, and Lenovo says that in their tests, the X1 Carbon withstood being dropped from the height of around 3 stories with no ill effects.
The X1 Carbon also features Lenovo’s redesigned keyboard. Basically there are no more physical Function buttons on top of the QWERTY keyboard. Instead, Lenovo has replaced the physical function keys with adaptive capacitive keys that change depending on the program being used, as well as the traditional F1 to F12 function keys.
As far as specs go, the base model of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is equipped with an intel Core i5 processor, along with 4GB of DDR3 Memory, 128GB of SSD storage, 14-inch display, with WQHD IPS touchscreen display (2560 x 1440) and HD (1600 x 900) display options. The base model goes for Php 105,000, and prices quickly climb up for higher spec’d variants.
