Lenovo Unveils Modular ThinkPad X1 Tablet

The Swiss Army Knife of tablets?

Lenovo is kicking off CES this year by unveiling their newest ThinkPad X1 tablet that boasts a modular design. Lenovo’s ThinkPad series of tablets have always been aimed at businesses and professionals, and the X1 tries to be the do-all tablet for multiple verticals by introducing a modular design.

At its core the ThinkPad X1 tablet is a Windows 10-powered slate, powered by Intel’s Core M processors, has a 12-inch 2,160×1440 IPS display, USB Type-C connectivity and up to 1TB of storage.

To address the needs of different customers, the ThinkPad X1 tablet can be connected to a number of accessories, which include a separate keyboard dock, a productivity module that adds a larger battery and HDMI output, a presenter module that adds a HDMI input and output along with a projector that capable of projecting an image up to 60-inches and a 3D imagine module that adds intel’s RealSense 3D camera that can take 3D pictures that can be used in tandem with 3D printers.

The ThinkPad X1 tablet is projected to cost $899 (Php 42.3K) when it hits stores in the US. The productivity module is $149 (Php 7K) while the presenter module is $279 (Php 13.1K). The 3D Imagine module is $149 (Php 7K).
