Meet The P1s, The First Ever Phone From Pepsi

Pepsi Phone

Rather decent spec to price ratio

When Pepsi said that they would be releasing their own smartphone, they weren’t kidding. Newly released in the China, the P1s marks the first ever Pepsi-branded smartphone, and we have to say, we’re quite surprised at how it turned out.

Pepsi P1s specs

That’s because the P1s has a very decent price to spec ratio. Consider that it’s kitted out with a 5.5-inch full HD, 2.5D display, octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 13-megapixel camera and a fingerprint scanner, all for as low as RMB 699, or 5.1K.

Of course, that’s not going to be the final price of the phone going forward. The P1s has been put in China’s equivalent of Kickstarter, and early backers get the phone at a discounted price of RMB 699. Once that’s all gone, the P1s gets a slighty higher price of RMB 999 or 7.3K, while the final production version will be priced at RMB 1299 or 9.5K.
