High-end specs in a sub-flagship priced modular package

The successor to last year’s high-end mid-ranger, the Moto Z Play is now available in the US and certain regions. Building on the successes of its predecessor, the new Moto Z2 Play retains the modularity and high-end internals, though now, in a thinner, more polished package. Though the handset is packing a smaller power pack, around 500mAh lesser than the first iteration, the Z2 Play’s newer SoC should soften the blow a bit when it comes to battery life. Here’s the hardware lowdown.

Retailing at $500 (~Php 25K) unlocked, the Moto Z2 Play is expected to ship late June 2017. The handset is compatible with last year’s bevy of Moto Mods. There’s a bunch of new mods in the pipeline, and the Z2 Play will be supporting them as well.
