With HMD Global’s announcement, the brand is making the Nokia 8.3 available globally following several months of delays, along with two new budget phones with the Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4. The Nokia 2.4 replaces the Nokia 2.3, while the Nokia 3.4 replaces the Nokia 3.2. What are the changes with both budget phones?
Nokia 3.4
- A circular camera module similar to the Nokia 8.3 and Nokia 5.3.
- A slightly bigger 6.39-inch HD+ display with a punch hole for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
- A more powerful Snapdragon 460 processor and double the internal storage at 64GB.
- Triple rear cameras: 13-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor
- USB-C port for up to 10w charging with its 4000mAh battery.
Nokia 2.4
- A bigger 6.5-inch HD+ display.
- More powerful Helio P22 octa-core processor.
- Bigger 4500mAh battery (but still with MicroUSB charging).
- A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
- A 3GB/64GB variant.
How much do they cost?
The Nokia 3.4 starts at 159 Euros (~Php 9.1k), while the Nokia 2.4 starts at 119 Euros(~Php 6.8k). Do note that prices in Europe are always higher, so expect the official price in the Philippines to be lower once they go official in our shores. While HMD Global phones are usually more expensive, the trade-off is that they are fully committed to at least 2 years of major Android updates and 3 years of security updates even with their budget phones.
