O+ 8.15 Hands-on and Initial Review: Definitely Impressive!

O+ 8.15 Hands-on and Initial Review

O+ caused quite a ruckus at SM Cyberzone North Edsa yesterday when they had their grand opening sale which included a whopping Php3,000 off their newest flagship, the quad-core O+ 8.15. Hundreds of eager customers trooped to the shop which probably gave the security team of SM panic attacks, hehe. Anyway, we were able to get our hands on a unit earlier today and we just wanted to share with you guys our initial impressions.

We go hands-on with the O+ 8.15!
We go hands-on with the O+ 8.15!

O+ 8.15 Spec Sheet

Design: Very Premium

The O+ 8.15 has a very slim design and its very lightweight. Although its has a big 5-inch screen, anyone with normal sized hands can operate this with one hand. If you are going to put it side by side with likes of Samsung Galaxy S4 it will even standout because it looks like the HTC Butterfly because of its design. Holding it gives you a reassuring feel that it won’t slip in your hands thanks to the matte finish. The metal accent found on the side of the phone gives more elegance to the already well built device.

Nice.

The display was also impressive! Colors were sharp, vibrant, and bright. HD quality definitely shines here as images came out beautifully.

Performance: Faaaaast!

We were only able to spend a few minutes with it but we can say that the quad-core CPU in the device is a certified beast! We didn’t experience any major lags, delays, or stuttering when we were testing the phone. Definitely a huge difference over dual-core handsets. Night and day difference.

Initial Verdict

When we initially found out that its initial SRP would be P12,990, we found it fairly expensive given the prices of the flagship units offered by Cherry Mobile, Starmobile, and MyPhone. However the O+ 8.15 gave us the experience we usually got with devices priced over Php20,000 so it’s definitely worth every centavo especially if you can still get it at the sale price.
