Hard to believe it, but we’re almost at the cusp of the holiday season, which means we may see Samsung’s next flagship phones by January 2021 right on schedule. As with this year’s offering, the Galaxy S21 series is expected to include a standard, a Plus, and Ultra models. Rendered designs of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, or Galaxy S30 depending on the rumors, were shared by a reliable leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer on his Voice page. The information is limited to speculations on the phone’s external build.
Here’s what we know about the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra so far:
- Unique rear camera housing design – the most noticeable detail of the Galaxy S21 series that sets it apart from its predecessors is that the rear camera housing that extends from the metal frame of the device. The housing includes three vertically stacked camera lenses for the S21 while the S21 Ultra has four.
- Displays – The Galaxy S21 will sport a 6.20-inch display with a hole-punch selfie camera. Its dimensions are quoted as “151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9mm”, or 9.0mm with the camera bump making it slightly wider than the S20. Meanwhile, Galaxy S21 Ultra’s dimensions are “165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm”, or 10.8mm thick when the camera bump is included.
- Missing S-Pen compartment – The Ultra model will have an S-Pen stylus but the leaked photos suggest that the S21 Ultra doesn’t have a compartment for it. It is speculated that the device may support the S-Pen as an accessory and might not be included in the box.
- 4-Camera module – The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a larger display and a camera bump on the back, along with four sensors, a laser autofocus module, and a flash. The purpose of each lens is rumored to sport two Telephoto/Periscope lenses, a wide, and ultra-wide lenses.
