While we already have the M6 and M6 Pro in the Philippines, POCO recently announced an M6 Plus 5G in India that boasts 5G connectivity. As the model name implies, this is a 5G-ready phone that uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor–specifically a higher-clocked version. It may look similar to the M6 Pro 5G that was announced last year, but you are getting a few upgrades with the M6 Plus 5G.
Starting with the display, the M6 Plus 5G’s IPS panel now has a 120hz refresh rate, and its punch-hole houses a higher-resolution 13-megapixel selfie shooter. The main camera now uses a 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM6 sensor, while the battery now supports 33w charging–and is a smidge bigger at 5030mAh.
The M6 Plus 5G comes with Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box, with POCO promising 2 Android updates and 4 years of security updates–which looks good on paper. Other features of the M6 Plus 5G include MicroSD card expansion, IP53 rating, and a headphone jack.
The M6 Plus 5G is priced in India as follows:
- 6GB/128GB – INR 13,499(~Php 9.5k)
- 8GB/128GB – INR 14,499(~Php 10.1k)
POCO has yet to bring a 5G-ready version of the M6 in the Philippines, and the M6 Plus 5G appears to be a good budget 5G offering.
