Despite being a two-year-old brand, realme was able to propel itself to the top of the Philippines’ market share for smartphones in Q3 2020, according to a report by Canalys. While having a 25% unit share is impressive enough, realme was able to realize a massive 531% annual growth in order to reach the top of the ranks.
Rounding up the top 5 are vivo (21%), Samsung (18%), OPPO (13%), and Xiaomi (8%).
realme’s rise to the top can be credited to its aggressive marketing and push for several new devices in the country. In the past two months, realme brought to the Philippines the realme 7 series (7i, 7, and 7 Pro) and the Narzo 20, along with IoT products like its smart 360-degree security camera, smart scale, and smart toothbrush.
