Samsung has officially refreshed their Galaxy A8 smartphone, launching the new mid-range device in their home country ahead of everybody else. The 2016 spec Galaxy A8 still retains the full metal body and 5.7-inch display of the original, though Samsung’s tweaked the externals and the innards of the new phone to set it apart from last year’s model.

Changes from last year include a faster Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Exynos 7420 is still quite formidable, as it’s the same processor that keeps the company’s Galaxy S6 smartphone chugging along.
The phone still has a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, and has the same always-on display that the company first introduced with the Galaxy S7. Rounding off the features are a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front, 3500mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with a fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy A8 (2016) hits Korea first, with a price tag of 649,000 won or around 28.1K.
