Samsung Quietly Releases Metal-backed Galaxy Tab A

Samsung has quietly released their new, metal-backed Galaxy Tab A in Russia. The tablet is one of the first ever metal-backed tablets that the company has created, following on the heels of their recent metal smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and A series of devices. The new tablet comes in two variants – An 8-inch version and a 9.7-inch version, both with roughly the same specifications. The Galaxy Tab A runs a 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 processor with LTE, which is very likely a Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM.

The two tablets will go on sale in Russia next month with the non-LTE A8 variant retailing at a price range of 16,990 rubles to 18,990 rubles, which is around Php 12,267 to Php 13,711. The LTE version of the same tablet is retailing at the price range of 20,990 rubles to 22,990 rubles, which is roughly Php 15,155 and Php 16,599. The WiFi 9.7-inch version goes for anywhere from 20,990 rubles to 22,990 rubles, which is roughly Php 15155 to Php 16,606. The LTE version meanwhile, is pegged to go for 24,990 rubles to 26,990 rubles, which is rougly Php 18050 to Php 19488.
