Samsung’s Galaxy S20 and S20+ Have Big Batteries And High Resolution Cameras

That camera module though

Samsung has officially announced their new trio of smartphones in their global Unpacked event in the US today, and while the Galaxy S20 and S20+ don’t have the same crazy 100x zoom as their bigger and more expensive brother, they still represent a big leap from last year’s offerings.

The biggest change here are the cameras. While Samsung is still retaining its 12-megapixel sensors for its wide-angle cameras, the company is embracing the idea of higher megapixel counts for their zoom optics. Both phones have 64-megapixel telephoto zoom lenses that have hybrid optical zoom capabilities of up to 3x, and up to Super Resolution Zoom capabilities of up to 30x via software.

Both phones also sport 120Hz Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED high-refresh-rate panels, with the regular S20’s display coming in at 6.2-inches and the S20+ having a slightly larger 6.7-inch display.

Both phones are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 990 octa-core processor and come with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 and 128GB of expandable storage. The regular S20 only gets a 4000mAh battery, while the bigger S20+ gets a higher 4,500mAh battery pack.

The Galaxy S20 is priced at Php 49,990 and will be an online and operator exclusive model, while the Galaxy S20+ is priced at Php 55,990. Both phones will be available for pre-order from February 12 to 25.
