Select NVIDIA GTX Cards to Receive Support for Ray Tracing

Ray Tracing is not exclusive to RTX cards

NVIDIA is changing their minds regarding ray tracing: originally exclusive to their RTX line, NVIDIA announced that it will be rolling out a driver for GTX cards to have support for ray tracing using DirectX Raytracing (DXR). A number of GTX cards, including the recently-announced GTX 1660 and GTX 1660 TI, is slated to receive the update by April.

Before you get too excited in giving your GTX card ray tracing tricks, there is one caveat: the update will only provide basic ray tracing effects and not the whole package like the RTX cards. Also, your mileage may vary depending on the games you play with it.
