Sharp Launches another Phone with a Dual Notch Design

It still looks weird

While we are in an era where brands are pushing for an all-screen, notch free display, Sharp remains to be stubborn with its dual notch-sporting phones. After last year’s atrocious-looking Aquos R2 Compact, Sharp is back once again with the peculiar concept with the Aquos R3.

As a successor to the Aquos R2 Compact, the Aquos R3 has a bigger display—this time with a quad HD resolution—along with a more powerful set of internals: Snapdragon 855, 6GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage.

The Aquos R3 gets dual rear cameras: a 12.2-megapixel sensor dedicated for photography and a 20-megapixel sensor dedicated for video. The front camera gets an upgrade, this time with a 16.3-megapixel sensor.

Keeping the lights on is a 3200mAh battery with 11w wireless charging and Android Pie out of the box.

Sharp Aquos R3 specs

Like its predecessor, the Aquos R3 is exclusive to Japan, so there’s little chance that you will see this phone in the flesh.
