This is the Ultimate Sony Mirrorless Camera

What happens when you combine the speed and accuracy of the Sony A9 II and the high-resolution sensor of the A7R V? You get the A1 II, which is Sony’s flagship mirrorless camera in the Philippines.

Demoed to us at Batangas Racing Circuit by brand ambassador Sherard Yu, The Sony A1 II takes things to a whole new level with its 50.1-megapixel sensor that can shoot 8K video at 30FPS and 4K video at 120FPS while utilizing the entire full-frame sensor. It inherits the A9 II’s powerful autofocus with its ability to shoot at up to 30FPS with AF/AE tracking and with AI-powered real-time recognition AF that makes the A1 II recognize subjects such as race cars, humans, birds, and more for tack-sharp autofocus.

For the demonstration, Yu used the A1 II to shoot a drift car along the tracks of Batangas Racing Circuit. The video output is very impressive, as it maximized the A1 II’s 50.1-megapixel sensor and AI-powered autofocus to keep the drift car in focus, resulting in sharp and clean footage that’s shot in 4K. Here’s are some of the footage taken by Yu:

What made us impressed with the A1 II’s autofocusing performance is that Yu was filming in broad, blinding  daylight, relying on the A1 II’s AI smarts to ensure that it focuses on the speeding drift cars racing along Batangas Racing Circuit.

Aside from the A1 II, Sony Philippines also showcased the FE 28-70mm 2.8 G Master as their first zoom lens that has a fixed f/2 aperture. While the lens may look imposing huge, it is one of the lighter and more compact f/2 zoom lenses in the market.

The Sony A1 II is priced at Php 385,999 in the Philippines, while the FE 28-70mm 2.8 G Master zoom lens is priced at Php 177,990.
