Aside from the humungous (and absolutely beautiful) C5 Ultra, Sony also launched their new “super mid-range” smartphone, the M5. The Xperia M5 has a smaller, 5-inch, full HD display and traditional side bezels, along with MediaTek’s Helio X10 octa-core processor, running at 2.0GHz.

Sony Xperia M5 specs

Aside from the new, beastly processor, the Xperia M5 is also touted as having a hybrid autofocus system that’s paired with a 21.5-megapixel rear camera, f/2.2 lens and the ability to shoot at ISO’s as high as 3200. The new AF system supposedly allows the Xperia M5 to focus in on subjects as just a quarter of a second. The camera of the M5 is also capable of 5x zoom without losing any quality, thanks to the Clear Image Zoom tech that’s in the phone.

Other specs of the M5 include water resistance, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage and a 2600mAh battery that the company says can keep on trucking for two days on a single charge.

Just like the C5 Ultra, there’s no firm release date for the M5 aside from the vague mid-August estimate.
