Why Xiaomi, why?!?
We’ve seen renders and specs of Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Mi 6, but we haven’t really seen leaked, hands-on photos of the device just yet. Well, that’s changing today – Gizchina managed to stumble on spyshots of the phone that confirm one dreaded rumor about the upcoming device.
Xiaomi Mi 6 (Codename: Sagit) (Rumored Specs)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor
- Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU
- 4GB/6GB RAM
- 5.15-inch FHD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage, UFS 2.0
- 12-megapixel rear camera
- 8-megapixel front camera
- Dual SIM
- 3200mAh battery
- Android 7.1.1 Nougat (MIUI 8)
Anyway, the dark coloration of the phone and the fact that it was photographed with the screen off makes determining the size of its bezels difficult, though the phone is expected to have a 5.15-inch FHD OLED display on board. More importantly, the spy shots confirm that the phone won’t have a 3.5mm jack when it ships to customers later this year. It looks like Xiaomi is pulling an Apple with the Mi 6, and managed to find the “courage” necessary to remove the 3.5mm jack, something that rival Samsung hasn’t done with the new S8.
The spy shots also show the dual rear camera of the Mi 6, which is pegged to be a 12-megapixel deal. Other specs of the Mi 6 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 6GHB of RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage and Android Nougat layered with the company’s MIUI overlay.
