TECNO Goes Premium with the Phantom X

Following an extensive set of leaks, TECNO is indeed stepping up its offerings with the Phantom X as its premium offering.

TECNO Phantom X specs

Unlike most of its usual offerings, the Phantom X has arguably the best set of snappers from TECNO’s portfolio of phones. You get a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 13-megapixel telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, 1.2um pixels, Dual Pixel AF, and Laser autofocus.

The selfie snappers are the best we have seen so far: you get a 48-megapixel selfie snapper that is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a dual-LED flash setup.

The display is arguably the best TECNO has to offer. It is a curved 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, in-display fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5.

For the internals, the Phantom X is powered by an Helio G95 processor that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a 4700mAh battery with support for 33w charging. To keep temps stable, TECNO incorporated a vapor chamber, which it claims can keep the phone cooler by as much as 5 degrees celsius.

TECNO has yet to announce the official pricing of the Phantom X, but judging by its specs, TECNO wants to have a slice of the premium mid-range market, and it is starting off with top-end 4G phones first.
