The GM6 is a Budget Android One Smartphone with a Fingerprint Scanner

Apparently, Google’s Android One movement is still alive and kicking, as Turkish smartphone manufacturer General Mobile announced the GM6 at MWC 2017. The GM6 is a budget-tier Android One handset featuring a fingerprint sensor and a selfie flash. What’s a “selfie flash”, you ask? It’s basically a front-firing LED flash… made for selfies.

Pricing and availability details are still up in the air as of this posting. The specs are very appealing though, so it’ll all boil down to how “budget-oriented” this smartphone really is with its pricing.

As for whether this handset will land on local shores, General Mobile is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Cherry Mobile’s One G1, another Android One branded phone. There’s a decent possibility that the GM6 might be sold here as a Cherry Mobile rebranded unit.
