itel is known for its budget phones in the Philippines, and it is bringing over its most affordable phone with the A50c, which is a toned-down version of the A50. With a promo price of Php 3,099 (official price is Php 4,599), the pricing of the A50c is very accessible to everyone.
So what do you get with a phone that’s just priced a little above Php 3k? You get a decently-sized 6.6-inch HD+ display with a punch-hole for a 5-megapixel camera, along with an 8-megapixel rear camera. Despite its very low price tag, itel gives the A50c a modern USB-C port and a fingerprint scanner, which are value added features for its price point.
You’ll have to manage expectations on its other features: its battery is on the small side at 4000mAh, and its internals are very modest with a Unisoc T603 processor and a meager 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that’s expandable via MicroSD. As a consolation, you’re getting Android Go 14 to make good use of those modest internals. Despite that, the A50c should be fine for light social media use and web browsing.
With what it has to offer, the A50c is ideal for grandparents of kids who are looking to have their first smartphone.
