The OPPO Find X Hides All its Cameras in a Motorized Pop-Up Module

It’s another take on the futuristic phone

In the quest for a notch-free, all screen display, the best solution so far is the use of a motorized pop-up mechanism concealing the front camera. In the case of the OPPO Find X, their approach involves placing all three cameras—front and back—in a module that pops out only when needed.

Aside from the cameras, the pop-up module houses the sensors for OPPO’s O-Face recognition system. Similar to Apple’s FaceID on the iPhone X, O-Face uses a flood illuminator, infrared camera, ranging sensor, and dot projector for biometrics.

OPPO’s approach keeps the overall design of Find X seamless, highlighting its 6.4-inch Panoramic arc curved display and its sleek, camera bump-free glass back. By concealing all cameras and sensors, the Find X boasts of a 92.25% screen-to-body ratio.
