One thing I absolutely hate about unboxing is when you need cutters just to get the product out. Lol. This was the case with the AKG K404. Maybe they wanted it really secure but man it was a pain in the ass to open.
What’s inside? The headphones and a cool black pouch (branded with AKG). Niceee! Only thing I didn’t like was the cable. It looked so er… weird.
In terms of build, the metal sliding band looks cool combined with the synthetic leather ear cups. There have been some complaints about how the headphones doesn’t seem to get a good fit but we found no problem with it.
Sound quality wise these cans were made for songs that have significant treble and focus on the mids. It also has good, fast, and whole sounding bass. If you like JPOP or KPOP songs you’ll probably love the AKG K404. ^^;

So far my wife is loving the cans! It’s a great entry level headphones to upgrade to if you’re coming from the default earphones of your iPod or iPhone. The sound quality is definitely noticeable. 🙂
