vivo Announces X50 Series with Unique Camera Setups

Three models, three different camera setups

vivo announced its latest line of X-series phones with the X50 Pro+, X50 Pro, and X50. The latter two have unique rear camera setups, with the X50 Pro+ being a proper flagship with its Snapdragon 865 processor.

The X50 Pro+ is the first to use Samsung’s new 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN1 sensor. The 1/1.3-inch sensor combines Dual Pixel AF and TetraCell tech for fast and accurate autofocus and huge 2.4µm pixels with 12.5-megapixel stills. The Dual Pixel AF sensor also helps the X50 Pro+ have continuous focus tracking for video even at night. Accompanying the X50 Pro+’s main camera is an 8-megapixel f/3.0 periscope camera with 5x optical and up to 60x hybrid zoom, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that doubles as a macro shooter, and a 13-megapixel f/2.5 portrait camera. The display is a 6.56 curved OLED punch-hole display with a 32-megapixel selfie snapper.

The X50 Pro has the same curved display (but with a 90hz refresh rate) and selfie snapper as the X50 Pro+ but comes with a Snapdragon 765G processor. Instead of the ISOCELL GN1, the X50 Pro uses an IMX598 main snapper with a gimbal-like stabilization system. It has the same rear camera setup and selfie camera as well.

The X50 has the bragging right of being the thinnest 5G smartphone at 7.49mm. You get the same display size, but this time with a flat panel. You get the same processor and the same main rear camera as the X50 Pro, but loses the X50 Pro’s unique gimbal-like stabilization system. The X50 also swaps the X50 Pro’s periscope camera for a macro camera.
