The vivo V40 Series Goes All-In with ZEISS

vivo stepped up its game with the V30 Pro when it added ZEISS co-engineering to its cameras. With the V40 series, vivo is giving the same ZEISS imaging quality to the standard model and gave them bigger 5500mAh batteries while keeping a slim profile.

vivo’s V series have been known to have the best cameras in its segment. The V40 Pro comes with a 50-megapixel IMX921 sensor for the main camera, while the V40 uses a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GNJ sensor. Aside from having ZEISS co-engineering, both V40 models have OIS on the main camera and a f/1.88 aperture.

Both phones also get a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a f/2.0 aperture, ZEISS co-engineering, and autofocus tracking, along with a 50-megapixel ZEISS selfie camera with autofocus tracking to keep your solo and group selfies in focus. The V40 Pro gets an additional 50-megapixel IMX816 sensor for its ZEISS telephoto camera, which has 2x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom.

Both phones also get ZEISS Multifocal portrait, emulating the classic focal lengths of 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm (plus 85mm and 100mm on the V40 Pro), along with ZEISS’ iconic bokeh styles for flattering portraits. They’re also geared for content creation with their ability to shoot cinematic videos in 4K with ZEISS Cinematic Bokeh Video.

Despite being only 7.58mm thick, the V40 series boast a huge 5500mAh BlueVolt battery that supports vivo’s 80w FlashCharge. The new batteries make use of second-generation silicon-carbon anode to increase energy density by 20% compared to conventional designs. Both phones feature a flagship-grade 120hz curved AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 4500nits and a 1.5k resolution, which is complemented by stereo speakers.

There are no compromises in performance with their processing power: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 for the V40, and Dimensity 9200+ for the V40 Pro–with both models having 12GB RAM onboard.

The V40 series will be available in several countries including the Philippines soon.
