vivo adds a new budget phone to its portfolio with the Y28, which succeeds the Y27s that launched earlier this year. There are two things that make this budget phone interesting: it is the most affordable phone to have an IP64 rating, which means that it is dust tight and water resistant.
Despite its slender looks, the Y28 has a large 6000mAh battery that supports 44w wired charging–which is a good balance of long battery life and fast charging speeds.
As a budget phone, the Y28 is powered by a Helio G85 processor that’s paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Its display is a 6.68-inch 90hz IPS display with a peak brightness of 1000nits, HD+ resolution, and a punch-hole for an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Speaking of cameras, its rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel filler camera.
Other features of the Y28 include stereo speakers, side-mounted fingeprint scanner, and Android 14-based FunTouchOS 14. Color options include Agate Green and Gleaming Orange.
We spotted the vivo Y28 in Shopee with an official price of Php 9,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, though you can get it as low as Php 8,599 with vouchers. We’re not sure if that’s the final price, so expect vivo Philippines to reveal more details about the Y28 in the coming days.
