vivo Announces Y30g in China

Just like the Y20 having multiple variants across the globe, vivo announced another Y30 variant in China with the Y30g. This particular variant shares a lot of similarities with the Y20i that launched in the Philippines last year.

vivo Y30g Philippines Specs:

Being a more affordable version of the Y30 that came out last year, the Y30g settles for a dual rear camera setup–13-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor–along with a 6.52-inch display with a waterdrop notch for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper. While you get a 5000mAh battery and 18w wired charging, the Y30 feels dated with its use of a MicroUSB port. If those specs ring a bell, that because the Y30g shares a lot of similarities with the locally-released Y20i.

As for the internals, the Y30g is better than the vanilla Y30 and the Y20i since it rocks a more powerful Helio P65 processor (vs Helio P35 on the Y30 and Snapdragon 460 on the Y20i)and has double the RAM at 8GB. Internal storage remains the same at 128GB and is expandable via MicroSD. Other notable features include a headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Android 11-based OriginOS out of the box.

vivo Y30g price

The Y30g is priced at CNY 1499(~Php 11.1k) and is available in three colors. Given that it boots with OriginOS, there’s little chance that it will be made available at our shores. If you are looking for a similar phone with a better processor and more cameras, you’re better off with the Y20S G, which is set to be officially available in the Philippines soon.
