vivo’s Upcoming X50 Pro has an Insanely Huge Main Rear Camera

It will be the first phone to use Samsung’s GN1 sensor

vivo will be launching a successor to last year’s Exynos-powered X30 with the X50 Pro. Ice Universe shared a render of the upcoming phone, and the huge main camera is the obvious standout feature.

One possible explanation for the huge main rear camera is its unique gyro-based image stabilization system that promises gimbal-like stabilization. vivo explains that its new image stabilization system enables X-axis and Y-axis tilt angles of up to 3 degrees—three times than that of traditional OIS.

In addition, the X50 Pro will reportedly be the first phone to use Samsung’s ISOCELL GN1—a 50-megapixel sensor with Dual Pixel AF. The new sensor has a 1/1.3-inch size and is slightly bigger than the 108-megapixel sensor used on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The X50 Pro will be unveiled on June 1.
