Founded in 2011, Unbox is a site that shares awesome products and services to our readers. We do reviews, commentaries, news announcements, event coverages, and a whole lot more to be able to give the best content possible to our community. Our main focus right now is really technology and gadgets but we expect to grow into other spaces in the next few months.

During daytime he’s the Managing Director and Partner of one of the top Digital Marketing Agencies in the Philippines and by nighttime he’s living out his passion as a gadget enthusiast and story teller through Unbox. You can follow him on Twitter @CarloOple.

John is a veteran technology and gadget journalist with more than 10 years of experience both in print and online. When not writing about technology, he frequently gets lost in the boonies playing solider.

Head Videographer and Editor


Jamie started off as the Digital Sales Manager of the site and has then moved on to content creation with a focus on creating videos and is in charge of the YouTube channel for Unbox PH where he takes awesome out of the box!

Lea is the rose among the thorns at Unbox and we’ve been calling her the Philippines’ Princess of Tech. She serves as the Lifestyle Editor at Unbox and the host for most of our YouTube videos.



Eason De Guzman

K-POP and Parkour Superstar of Unbox. Seriously though Eason is one of the most passionate tech freaks in the industry. He lives and breathes technology as evidenced by his addiction to anything and everything ASUS. When he’s not busy going around the country doing his training workshops, he’s back in the Ninja Gym levelling up his mad skillz in parkour.

Our resident movie and pop culture buff. Colin loves to write about movies, TV series, and different kinds of geekery.

  7. Wow! My KATA F1 is now in “For Emergency Use Only”!!!
    Let me tell you what happen,…..
    It was working well in the Philippines, hanggang airport, I’m using “Smart” sim, I did enable the “Roaming”. Nagamit ko pa siya sa Japan for texting *(di’ me makatawag), then the trouble started when I change my simcard upon arriving “New York”, I change my simcard to AT&T simcard, then, when I turned my KATA F1,… it shows “For Emergency use only’!!! Aba!!! nag panic ako!!! wala naman akong naalala na ginawang password sa cell ko so hinayaan ko lang siya and hoping that maybe it will return for normal use after while.

    But to my surprise!! kahit na binalik ko ung Smart sim ko, nilagyan ko narin ng T-Mobile sim, or pinag palit-palit ko na mga simcard ko,, ay wa-epek!! Di nko na magamit!! because di’ ko na magamit, kahit na camera or di’ ko na ma buksan man lang para makita mga contacts ko!!!! Help me out please!!! meron bang paraan para maibalik ko man lang sa “Factory Preset” itong KATA F1 ko?
    Please reply soon di ko man lang marawagan family ko sa Pinas except via skype sa laptop ko.

    1. Why would you ask help form someone who is not responsible in fixing your gadget? Call the manufacturer or the dealer and raise your issue. is neither a manufacturer nor dealer; thus, they cannot help you fix it.
