Before the Resolution Kicks In
Samsung opened up the year with two new entries to the A series of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018). The devices come with extended aspect ratios at 18.5:9, though not of the Infinity Display variety, with Samsung’s Super AMOLED panels. To help take their selfie game a bit higher, the Korean company has equipped the device with two front cameras and equipped it with Live Focus that gets pretty good results in terms of getter smooth, believable bokeh effects but what we really wanted to take for a spin during our New Year’s trip to Baguio was the 16-megapixel rear camera with an f-stop of f/1.7 and equipped with PDAF.

With that out of the way, let’s get to the photos!
Overall, you’re getting pretty decent photos out the rear camera but you might want to tweak the exposure a bit because it does tend to overexpose shots just a bit. You’ll also want to get the best lighting possible to achieve sharp details in your shots; either that or you should have the steady hands of a surgeon.
