The 13 cities that were part of the test include Bacolod City, Baguio City, Cebu City, Davao City, Iloilo City, Lapu-Lapu City, Makati City, Manila, Naga City, Parañaque, Pasay City, Rodriguez (Rizal) and Zamboanga City. DITO takes the lead across all 13 cities for Upload Speed Experience, which is consistent with Opensignal’s Q1 2024 report.
In terms of the consistency of the connection, DITO leads the competition across 13 cities save for Lapu-Lapu City, making DITO a reliable network for posting on social media.
Regarding other metrics, Smart ties with DITO for Reliability Experience in 8 cities, Availability in 7 cities, and Download Speed in 4 cities. This shows that DITO is catching up nicely when it comes to services, as Smart used to dominate across all key metrics years ago.
Despite DITO’s dominance, Opensignal notes that Globe did take the lead in Bohol for Consistent Quality and Reliable Experience while leading in Video Experience across four provinces.
“The mobile network experience is essential for tourists in their holiday destinations — not just in terms of entertainment, social media, and staying in touch but also when it comes to emergencies,” Opensignal concludes in its report.
