DITO Telecommunity Passes Second Performance Audit

It seems that the DITO Telecommunity is consistent with its commitments with the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC). For its second-year commitments, Dito Telecommunity has passed the technical audit once again.

Dennis Uy-led Dito CME Holdings said in a regulatory filing last Tuesday, September 7, that the telco company has already received the notice from NTC regarding the technical audit.

As per the independent auditor, the NTC told Dito that the calculated national population coverage reached 52.75%. Dito’s minimum average broadband speed, meanwhile, was at 89.13 megabits per second and 853.96 Mbps for its 4G and 5G sites, respectively. According to its commitments, Dito should be able to cover 51.01% of the population, while the minimum average broadband speed should reach 55 Mbps.

The rolling out of  5G services in the country greatly helped the telco company achieve its second-year commitments. They partnered with Nokia to deploy this 5G service in Mindanao.

Dito first launched in the Visayas and Mindanao in March and in Metro Manila in May this year. As of writing, the telco company already has over 2 million users in the Philippines, covering 200 cities nationwide; all this within the span of 5 months.

With this announcement of new areas, DITO Telecommuniy has grown its network coverage from 15 pilot areas in March to 185 as of writing.
