LTO: No More Driver’s License Backlog Next Year

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has been having trouble printing driver’s licenses throughout the year. According to LTO, they will start resolving the driver’s license backlog starting next year.

LTO: No More Driver’s License Backlog Next Year

As per LTO chief Arturo Tugade, they are just waiting for the replacement of defective parts of the laser engravers that caused the backlog in driver’s license printing.

The agency is expecting that the engraving machines will be repaired by February of next year and the printing of around 90,000 driver’s license backlog will finally start and be done within the first quarter of 2023.

“Nasa Customs na raw ang piyesa na kailangan for the repairs. Kailangan na lang maikabit isa-isa at ma-evaluate ang mga machines,” the LTO chief said.

Over 92,000 license cards have already piled up in regional offices nationwide due to the breakdown of the engraving machines in around 36 LTO offices in the country.

As of writing, 36 LTO offices are unable to print driver’s licenses. So, stay away from these offices:
