While the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has lifted number coding since last March 2020 during the first quarantine imposed in the Metro, the City of Makati has always been known to separate itself from MMDA’s Unified Vehicular Reduction Program (UVVRP), more commonly known as the number coding scheme.
Thankfully, this time around, the City of Makati has also announced that it will be following the same guidelines of suspending number coding of the MMDA. This is especially important for those who work within the city boundaries because they will no longer have to worry about violating the number coding scheme by wandering into Makati as they traverse its borders.
Do take note that the lifting of number coding in the City of Makati will not be permanent as the city government has already announced that this will only last until the end of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), which will hopefully be on April 30.
