After the successful rollout of the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card, Maya is finally offering their credit card offering dubbed Maya Black. The digital bank is promising a premium experience with their new credit card for customers, which includes competitive interest rates, perks that are usually offered to really big spenders like lounge access in airports, as well as painless conversion of points to miles with their collaboration with Philippine Airlines.
Here is the full list of the perks you get when you get the card:
- Earn Maya Miles on every transaction, tracked in real time. Miles can be spent as currency across Maya’s merchant network, converted into airline miles like Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles, and redeemed for other travel rewards—all within the app.
- 3,000 bonus miles upon physical card activation and a ?5,000 spend within 60 days
- Access to airport lounges via DragonPass, including PAGSS and Marhaba lounges in NAIA.
- Accepted at over 130 million merchants worldwide via Visa
- Advanced security, with card numbers only visible via the app and freeze/replace features
While this is technically Maya’s second card, this is the brand’s first card that they’re giving customers without a partner like Landers. Many of the features in their new card, like choosing when your due date is, being able to halt payments without having to call a hotline, pausing a card, cash advances, and whatnot, are all present in this product. You can even say that their Landers collaboration was a test run for this.
The best thing about this is that everything related to the application process can be done online. You submit all of your documents online, and you know if you get approved through the app. You won’t have to go to any kiosk or meet anyone in person. Take note though that applications are still subject to approval, and Maya will be conducting credit checks before you’re approved just like any other bank, digital or not.
The card design is cool too. I love me monochromatic stuff, and the Maya Black credit card hits the spot. No bright colors, no annoying logos to distract you from the look. Just black and grey gradients. There isn’t even a card number in the front to prevent fraud – just your name and a space at the back for your signature.
Maya will be rolling out their new credit card feature to users gradually over the next few weeks, so keep checking your app to see if you can apply.
