PT&T Inks Partnership to Sell Starlink Kits to PH Customers

Getting a Starlink kit should be easier, as PT&T confirmed in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange that they have inked a partnership with Australian technology firm NetLinkz to sell Starlink kits to customers in the Philippines.

This makes purchasing a Starlink kit more accessible in the Philippines with PT&T as one of its official distributors locally. Prior to this, those interested in buying a Starlink kit have to purchase it through the SpaceX website.

“We are thrilled to bring Starlink to the Philippines and offer our customers with the need for connectivity with a reliable internet solution,” PT&T President and CEO James Velasquez said. “Our partnership with Netlinkz allows us to provide high-speed internet access to areas where traditional broadband services are limited or unavailable.”

This is a positive development on the availability of Starlink in the Philippines, as it announced early this year that its services are now available locally. There’s also excitement for the satellite internet service, as a speedtest made last April revealed that Starlink offered faster median download speeds than all local broadband ISPs combined. Howver, the high median download speeds does not factor in latency, as satellite internet can have latency problems depending on the location and weather conditions.
