Epic Games Is Bringing Fortnite Battle Royale to Mobile Devices

Build and Shoot!

With the popularity of Battle Royale games on PC, such as PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, it was only a matter of time before the gaming genre made its way onto the mobile platform and it’s already begun to turn a few heads away from the herd of MOBAs available on the App Store and on Google Play. Jumping on the opportunity to make it big in mobile gaming, Epic Games has decided to bring their take on Battle Royale Games right into your hands. Yes, that’s right folks. Fortnite is coming to your Android and iOS device.

If you haven’t played Fortnite Battle Royale, it’s pretty much your standard setup with 100 players dropped into an island, picking up loot in, and fragging each other until one player remains with one added element — building. According to our source, mobile gamers will be getting the same experience as its console and PC Master race counterparts; something we’ll definitely have to try out for ourselves when it comes out.

Speaking of when it will come out, it seems like Android users will have to wait a couple of months before the game makes its way onto Google Play but iPhone users may be getting the game by next week via an invite-only testing. You can sign up on Monday, March 12, to try your luck and see if you’ll get into the program. The company says they’ll be adding more and more players to the mix, so it’s better to sign up sooner than later.

There’s talk about being able to cross play with your friends on PS4, PC, Mac, and Android when it comes but we really hope that they make a separate server for mobile gamers as they’ll be in a major disadvantage to mouse and keyboard users.
