Nintendo Announces Nostalgia-inducing Famicom Mini

download

If you were the child of the 80’s and early 90’s, chances are you played with Nintendo’s Family Computer. While the company is already releasing a miniaturized version of their Nintendo Entertainment System, that’s not quite the same as having the Famicom which many of us grew up with.

Worry not – Nintendo today has announced the Famicom Mini, a more suitable nostalgia-inducing console that we all grew up with here in the Philippines. The tiny console fits in the palm of your hand and has two wired controllers, though we’re pretty sure the second controller’s microphone is just for looks. Just like the Western version of their console, the Famicom Mini will be able to connect to modern TVs via HDMI, will have the ability to save games and will have 30 iconic 8-bit games pre-loaded. Since the Famicom Mini is primarily for Japanese audiences, the interface and the games will be in Japanese, but anybody who had a Famicom back in the day probably won’t mind. Here’s the game list:

The Famicom Mini will be available to buy in Japan on November 10 for 5,980 Yen, or around 2.8K.
