If Wonder Woman 1984‘s scheduled premiere via HBO Max on Christmas is not enough of an indication, Warner Bros. announced that will be doing the same distribution model to all of its films lined up for 2021. Under this new normal distribution, Warner Bros. will continue to debut films in cinemas, but will give HBO Max subscribers an exclusive one-month access period.
Among the films scheduled to release in 2021 include:

- Judas and the Black Messiah
- Tom & Jerry
- Godzilla vs. Kong
- Mortal Kombat
- Those Who Wish Me Dead
- The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
- In The Heights
- Space Jam: A New Legacy
- The Suicide Squad
- Reminiscence
- Malignant
- Dune
- The Many Saints of Newark
- King Richard
- Cry Macho
- Matrix 4
“No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021,” WarnerMedia Chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff said. “With this unique one-year plan, we can support our partners in exhibition with a steady pipeline of world-class films, while also giving moviegoers who may not have access to theaters or aren’t quite ready to go back to the movies the chance to see our amazing 2021 films.”
While there’s no word if we are getting the same distribution model in the Philippines––HBO Max is not officially available in the country as of this writing––local movie production outfits are adopting a similar approach by releasing some of their latest movies through Netflix. Some of these local films include Finding Agnes, U-Turn, and Alter Me.
