Yup, you were right

If you’ve ever muttered the words “this country has the worst traffic in the world” while trying to navigate the clogged streets of Manila, congratulations, you’re right – at least according to a recently concluded survey done by navigation app Waze.

The traffic app evaluated the driving experience of 50 million users in 32 countries and 167 metropolitan areas in the world to create the Driver Satisfaction Index, which condenses the driving experience into a numerical score, with 10 being satisfying and 1 being miserable.

As expected, our country’s terrible traffic conditions, especially during rush hour, has made the PH the worst place for drivers in the world, tied with Guatamala and Venezuela. Waze’s Home-work commute index puts the Philippines at the bottom at the pile, with the traffic index at 0.4 and the commute index at 0. Yes, 0. Anybody who has ever had to commute to work in the metro probably knows how accurate that is – taking public transit in Manila every day turns you into a certified street warrior.
