ASUS ZenFone Selfie Scores High On Our PCMark Battery Test

All-day battery life and then some

A few days ago we received the ZenFone Selfie to test out, and today we managed to finish our first run of our standard PCMark battery test on the device using the work benchmark. PCMark’s battery benchmark is a good indicator of just how much battery life you can expect while using the device non-stop via the typical use-case scenario, namely watching video, browsing and using apps.

Anyway, the ZenFone Selfie managed to score a score of 7 hours and 9 minutes using the work benchmark, which means it has more than enough battery life for a day’s worth of use, maybe more. We’ve managed to record a battery life of around a day and a half with the device with moderate use, which is more than we can say for the ZenFone 2. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 processor isn’t as power hungry as Intel’s offering, and since the Snapdragon 615 processor on the Selfie runs slower (AnTuTu says the clockspeed is 1.5GHz compared to the typical 1.7GHz) than other phones that have the same processor, it’s capable of running longer on a single charge.

We’re trying to wrap up our review as soon as possible, so keep checking back for that in a few days. In the meantime, check out our unboxing of the ZenFone Selfie here, and the video unboxing here.
