The commitment to Android One is paying off well
HMD Global has been committed to providing the latest Android updates to nearly its entire portfolio of Nokia smartphones, and its efforts have paid off.
It’s official: Nokia phones take the lead in software updates and security, delivering the most updates, the most often. Thanks to @CounterpointTR for sharing the study! With Nokia phones, it really does just keep getting better. #Nokiamobile #Android #GetSmart pic.twitter.com/9UNKZK3eW6

According to a research by Counterpoint, around 96% of HMD Global’s portfolio of Nokia phones are currently running Android Pie, maintaining a big lead over Samsung and Xiaomi—the two brands have 89% and 84% of their phones updated to Android Pie respectively.
“Unsurprisingly, therefore, little effort is expended by the top manufacturers in focusing on regular updates to the operating system and device security, despite it being a critical element in the continued safe performance of the smartphone,” Richardson said.
