Mid-Range Bezel-Less Smartphone Comparo: LG Q6 vs. Vivo V7+

Affordable Bezel-Less goodness

Nowadays, mid-range smartphones are also riding into the bezel-less trend, and brands find ways to make bezel-less phones with an affordable price tag: Something that Vivo and LG have been working on with the V7+ and the Q6 respectively. Both offer the beauty of a bezel-less phone while keeping the price within the mid-range price point of 10K-20K. Which of the two is a better offering? Let’s take a quick look at their specs:

Internals: The V7+ has beefier internals

No questions here, as the V7+ offers a better configuration with a Snapdragon 450 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The LG offers a Snapdragon 435 processor, along with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage, which is not bad if you would ask us.

Camera: Perfect selfies, anyone?

The LG’s camera setup could not match with the V7+’s f/2.0 cameras (16-megapixel in the front, 24-megapixel in the back), staying true to its Perfect Selfie campaign.

Display: Full HD+ display, any day

While the V7+ may dominate over the Q6, it’s Waterloo lies on the display. It may sport a bigger display at 5.99 inches, but it is only an HD+ panel, which pales in comparison over the Q6’s 5.5-inch Full HD+ panel.

Battery: Bigger battery on the V7+

Though the V7+’s battery is 225mAh bigger than the one found with the Q6 at 3225mAh, this means a lot in real life tests, as this would give the V7+ longer times before you will need to hunt for an outlet.

Verdict: V7+ by a landslide, but…

Without a doubt, the V7+ is better than the Q6 on paper. However, its price (at Php 17,990) can be a real turn-off to most buyers as the V7+ only has an HD+ display, compared to the Q6, which has a Full HD+ display and is Php 4,000 cheaper. So if you would ask us, the Q6 is a better buy IF a great display is your top priority.
