Motorola is Back in Making Flagship Phones with the Edge Series

Both come with curved 90Hz displays AND a headphone jack

Motorola is back to making flagship phones as it announced its Edge Series in the US. Both Edge and Edge+ are 5G-ready devices with curved 90Hz AMOLED displays with an in-display fingerprint scanner, loud stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, and capable triple rear camera setups.

The Edge+ has a display with support for HDR10+ and is powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor. As a flagship phone, Motorola decked the Edge+ with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. It also goes toe-in-toe with Xiaomi’s Mi 10 and Mi Note 10 with its OIS-equipped 108-megapixel main rear camera. Accompanying the high-resolution camera is a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a ToF sensor. While the Snapdragon 865 supports 8K video, Motorola caps the Edge+’s video recording to 6K. Powering the Edge+ is a sizeable 5000mAh battery with 18w wired charging, 15w wireless charging, and 5w reverse wireless charging.

The Edge, on the other hand, has the same AMOLED panel but loses support HDR10+. Powering it is a Snapdragon 765G processor with 4GB (US) or 6GB (global) RAM options and 128GB internal storage. Unlike the Edge+, the Edge has a MicroSD slot for expandable storage. For the cameras, the Edge does not have a ToF sensor and uses a 64-megapixel main snapper instead. It still has the same 25-megapixel selfie camera, 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 8-megapixel telephoto camera found on the Edge+. Powering the Edge is a sizeable 4500mAh battery with 18w wired charging.
