Xiaomi Unveils Mi 10 Series with 108-Megapixel Camera, LPDDR5 RAM

Xiaomi goes all-in yet again

While Xiaomi’s global launch of the Mi 10 Pro is still in limbo following the cancellation of this year’s MWC, the brand went on to launch the Mi 10 Pro in China. As Xiaomi’s flagship phone, the Mi 10 Pro boasts of the latest and most powerful internals that include a Snapdragon 865 processor, WiFi 6, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage.

The use of LPDDR5 is particularly important, as the new RAM tech offers twice the speeds of LPDDR4 RAM while being around 20% more power-efficient at the same time. Paired with UFS 3.0 storage, the Mi 10 Pro handles multitasking better than its predecessors while having a better battery endurance at the same time. In addition, LPDDR5 RAM is meant to help in handling high-megapixel photos and heavy 4K/8K video editing.

To keep things cool, the Mi 10 Pro has a three-dimensional cooling system that consists of a large VC heat-dissipating board, 6 layers of graphite sheets, and a large graphene layer—the latter covering 70% of the phone’s internals.

The display gets an upgrade, as the Mi 10 Pro’s 6.67-inch Super AMOLED panel has a 90hz refresh rate and a display color accuracy that is better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It is class-leading as well, boasting of a 5000000:1 contrast ratio and a maximum 1200nit brightness.

The Mi 10 Pro is also a screamer in the imaging department, as it rocks a quad-rear camera setup that is led by a 108-megapixel f/1.8 main rear camera—the same camera found on the Mi Note 10.

Aside from getting a battery bump, both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro comes with a class-leading 30w wireless charging, along with 50w wired charging  (30w wired charging for the Mi 10) and 10w reverse wireless charging.
