The HONOR Magic V aims to Outdo the Galaxy Z Fold3

HONOR is the latest brand to announce their own foldable device with the Magic V. Unlike with OPPO and Samsung–where they use a previous-generation Snapdragon 888 processor, the Magic V is the first foldable device that uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

HONOR Magic V Specs:

Despite being bigger than both the Find N and the Galaxy Z Fold3, HONOR is proud that the Magic V has a 21:9 aspect ratio for its 6.45-inch outer display. The brand claims that this is the ideal aspect ratio for foldables, as unfolding the device to reveal the 7.9-inch foldable inner display with a 10:9 aspect ratio that will still equate to having two 21:9 displays. The outer display comes with a 2560×1080 resolution and a 120hz refresh rate, while the inner display has a 2272×1984 resolution and a 90hz refresh rate.

Like the implementation on the Find N, the Magic V uses a floating teardrop design for the hinge to minimize the gap when folded and keep the phone as slim as possible.

The Magic V also beats the Galaxy Z Fold3 with its larger 4750mAh battery. While there’s no wireless charging onboard, the Magic V supports 66w fast charging. The same can be said with the cameras, as the Magic V has two 42-megapixel selfie cameras (one of each for the outer and inner display) and three 50-megapixel rear cameras. The rear camera setup consists of a 23mm f/1.9 main camera, 13mm f.2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a special 20mm f/2.0 Sprectrum Enhanced camera.

The HONOR Magic V is priced at CNY 9999(~Php 80.6k) for the 12GB/256GB model and CNY 10999(~Php 88.7k) for the 12GB/512GB model.
