The 5G-enabled phone will arrive in stores by third quarter of 2019
vivo announced that the iQOO 5G will be their first 5G-enabled phone to be made available to the public at MWC Shanghai 2019. While it did not reveal the phone’s full specs, the iQOO 5G comes with a Snapdragon 855 processor paired with Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem.
Just like the APEX 2019 concept phone, vivo designed a complex 3D layout for the motherboard to accommodate all the necessary 5G components without compromising on battery capacity or the phone’s overall thickness.
Similar to OnePlus’ approach with WarpCharge, vivo placed the Micro Controller Unit in the Super FlashCharge adapter, offering additional protection to the phone from overheating and voltage issues. To ensure the longevity of the battery, Super FlashCharge comes with a battery management system and a two-channel IC for optimal power management.
The announcement did not specify if Super FlashCharge will make it to the iQOO 5G as of this writing.
